Baby Geniuses - Quilt!

This piece was the simplest of them all! After achieving Baby Diamond, Colourful Strips and Appliqués, doing this was such a breeze! But I had to rush (hmmm... is that good enough of an excuse)...
I needed to finish a baby quilt by this week (baby due date) and started on them on Tuesday!
However due to the simplicity of it (**wink wink**) I completed the top piece within 3 hours :) (*big grin)

Was suppose to finish quilting it over the weekend but hubby has planned a trip to Cameron Highlands (weeeee......) So I told him I wanna take my machine with me, he said I could but he doubted I'll get any sewing done ;-) probably the roses and strawberries will attract too much of my attention...
Well, let's hope for the best!

And yeah, the Appliqué Quilt (Hearts a Flutter) top piece is also done... standing tall at 70" X 85" (**worried look) I passed them to my mum to baste it for me due to the huge size :) she hand stitches them together before I machine quilt it... I hope to do stippling but it will be my first time... will post them up once the quilt is done :)

Camerons, here I come... Have a great weekend peepzzzz...

Appliques!!!

I decided to be a little adventurous on my next project and tried on appliqué... well, the semi, output is as below...

However, this is for my niece who is 8 years old and currently the quilt top is too small...
So, I've added a few more sashing's at the top's and side.... and thus, needed more appliqué...
I have 6 flowers and 4 butterflies to be affix onto this quilt top...
After all the sashing, the piece is now pretty huge... standing at a bold 65" by 50"...
Perfect single size quilt but oh gosh, I've got to quilt it after this....aaaarrrggghhhh...
Wish me luck folks!

Colorful Strips!

My Colorful Strip Baby Quilt finished over a week ago but because it was meant as a surprise, I could not post a blog on it until the recipient receives it!
Well, the recipient finally received it early this morning, and I hope the wait was worth it.

As usual, photos are all courtesy of hubby :)
I used the balance of "It's a Hoot" CP purchased few months back... I used up all the pink colored ones for the Diamond Baby Quilt and the balance pieces went through my scissors and ended up as strips and joined together to produce 9 blocks as below.

For the backing, I used cotton with small blue prints.

Well, the recipients (ie. parents) are happy, so let's just hope the little bundle will be too when he receives it... :)
